Rutgers University sophomore Aspen Maxwell has been named to the Buffalo Invitational All-Tournament Team following her performance at the event in Buffalo, New York.
Maxwell, who is from Houston, Texas, joined Rutgers after transferring from Missouri last spring. During the tournament, she led Rutgers in matches against Marist, Liberty, and host Buffalo. Over 14 sets played during the weekend, Maxwell averaged 3.93 kills per set and contributed nine blocks.
In her first appearance for the Scarlet Knights on Friday afternoon, Maxwell recorded a .346 hitting percentage with 14 kills and four blocks in a 3-1 win over Marist. On Saturday night against Liberty, she posted 20 kills and 12 digs—marking her first career double-double—and added four blocks in a five-set match. She finished the weekend with a career-high 21 kills in another five-set contest against Buffalo on Sunday afternoon.
The Rutgers volleyball team will next compete in Fairfield, Connecticut this weekend where they are scheduled to play Dartmouth, LIU, and Sacred Heart.
