Rising sophomore diver Bailee Sturgill is set to represent Team USA at the 2025 World Aquatic Championships in Singapore from July 26 to August 3. Sturgill will compete alongside Lily Witte of Indiana in the women’s synchronized 3M event.
During her first season with the Scarlet Knights in 2024-25, Sturgill qualified for the NCAA Championships on the 1M, 3M, and platform events. Rutgers achieved a school record by sending four Scarlet Knights to the NCAAs. Sturgill emerged as the NCAA Zone A platform champion and led her team at the Big Ten Championships by qualifying for finals on both the 1M and platform.
In May, at the USA Diving Championships, Sturgill secured gold as co-champion in women’s synchronized 3M and teamed up with classmate Katerina Hoffman to win bronze in women’s synchronized platform. The Noblesville, Indiana native also reached the finals in senior women’s 3M, finishing fifth.
Recently, Sturgill joined Hoffman to claim gold in women’s synchronized platform, won silver with Witte in women’s synchronized 3M, and placed eighth in women’s 3M at the 2025 Canada Diving Cup.
The preliminaries for the World Aquatic Championship’s women’s synchronized 3M will commence on Monday, July 28, followed by finals on Tuesday, July 29.
