Rising sophomore diver Katerina Hoffman is set to represent Team USA at the 2025 World University Games in Berlin, Germany. The event will take place from July 17 to July 23. Hoffman will compete in the women’s 1-meter and 3-meter diving events.

During her first season as a Scarlet Knight in 2024-25, Hoffman qualified for the NCAA Championships in all three diving disciplines: 1M, 3M, and platform. Rutgers sent a school record of four Scarlet Knights to the NCAAs that year. Hailing from Whitehouse Station, New Jersey, Hoffman claimed the NCAA Zone A 1M title and reached both the 1M and 3M consolation finals at the Big Ten Championships.

In May, Hoffman partnered with fellow Scarlet Knight Bailee Sturgill to secure a bronze medal in women’s synchronized platform diving. She also placed tenth on senior women’s 3M and eleventh on senior women’s 1M. More recently, Hoffman and Sturgill won gold in women’s synchronized platform at the 2025 Canada Diving Cup.

The World University Games will feature the women’s 3M preliminaries on Sunday, July 20, with finals scheduled for Monday, July 21. Women’s 1M preliminaries are set for Tuesday, July 22, followed by finals on Wednesday, July 23.
