Rutgers field hockey alumna Katie Larmour has been selected for Team Ireland in the upcoming European Championships. Larmour recently debuted for Team Ireland, earning her first international cap against Team USA in Charlotte in early June. She is among 18 women chosen to compete in Monchengladbach, Germany.

Larmour’s time at Rutgers from 2016 to 2021 saw her as a consistent presence in the midfield, participating in 86 games and starting 83 of them. She scored 17 goals and made 18 assists, totaling 52 points, including six game-winning goals. Her performance places her in the top-15 for both assists and points in program history.

Her accolades include winning Rutgers’ Headley-Singer Award in 2022, being a two-time All-American with First Team honors in 2021, and a four-time All-Region selection. In addition, she was a three-time First Team All-Big Ten selection and part of the Big Ten All-Tournament team in 2019. In academics, she was recognized as a three-time Distinguished Scholar and received several other academic awards.

The European Championships will take place from August 9 to August 17. Ireland will compete in Pool A with matches against The Netherlands on August 9, France on August 11, and Germany on August 13. Eight teams are set to participate: Belgium, England, France, Germany, Netherlands, Scotland, Spain, and Ireland. Matches will be available live on EuroHockey TV.

“We’re really excited to get going at the EuroHockey Championships,” said Team Ireland head coach Gareth Grundie. “It’s a fantastic tournament and a great stage for us to test ourselves against the best teams in Europe.”
