Rutgers football was defeated by No. 8 Oregon with a score of 56-10 on Saturday at SHI Stadium in Piscataway, New Jersey. The game drew an attendance of 53,127 spectators.

In the opening series, Rutgers defensive back Jett Elad forced a fumble that was recovered by defensive lineman Jordan Walker. Placekicker Jai Patel made a 51-yard field goal, tying his career long. Defensive back Cam Miller recorded an interception in the third quarter. Running back Ja’shon Benjamin contributed his second rushing touchdown of the season and finished with 69 rushing yards.

Rutgers now holds a record of 3-4 overall and 0-4 in conference play, while Oregon improved to 6-1 overall and 3-1 in conference games.

Next, Rutgers will travel to face Purdue on October 25. This will be Rutgers’ first trip to Ross-Ade Stadium with fans present since their last visit in 2020. The game is scheduled for noon and will be broadcast on Big Ten Network.
