Rutgers football signs recruits across nine states for incoming class of 2026

Rutgers University has announced the signing of 21 student-athletes to its football program for the 2026 recruiting class. Head coach Greg Schiano revealed that the new recruits come from nine states, including Florida, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Georgia, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Connecticut, and Michigan.

The group includes five offensive linemen, four defensive backs, two athletes listed as ATH, two defensive linemen, two linebackers, two tight ends, two wide receivers, one quarterback and one running back.

Among the signees is Devonte Anderson from Orlando, Florida. Anderson played both defensive back and wide receiver at West Orange High School. He contributed to a 10-2 record in his senior year and earned honorable mention as an All-Orange Observer utility player in 2024.

Logan Anthony joins from Lehighton, Pennsylvania. At Palmerton High School he played on both lines and was named a 2024 PIAA Class 3A All-State selection on offense.

Reece Beck of Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida helped his high school team reach a state semifinal as a senior while playing tight end and defensive line.

Rinaldo Callaway III from Macon, Georgia had notable statistics with over 300 tackles during his high school career at Southwest and received recognition as the Region 2 Division 1 Athlete of the Year in 2025. Callaway is ranked as a four-star prospect by national recruiting services.

Wide receiver Dyzier Carter comes from Louisa County High School in Virginia where he earned first team honors on both sides of the ball and was selected as an Under Armour All-American.

Elias Coke from Harrisburg High School in Pennsylvania recorded nearly 200 catches for more than 3,000 yards during his prep career. He was named Second Team PIAA 6A All-State at receiver.

Other players signed include Jamareis ‘JJ’ Conyers (defensive back) from Sumner High School in Florida; Sebastian Cruz (defensive back) from Fleming Island High School in Florida; Tyler Duell (offensive lineman) from West Chester East in Pennsylvania; Michael Dukes III (running back) from Martin Luther King Jr. High School in Michigan; Cameron Greene (offensive lineman) from St. Augustine Prep in New Jersey; DJ Howerton (tight end) from Grimsley High School in North Carolina; Donovan Johnson (offensive lineman) from Pine Forest High School in North Carolina; Joey Kopec (linebacker) from Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy in Ohio; Brandon Murray (defensive back) from Battlefield High School in Virginia; Brady Owens (tight end) from Yorktown High School in Virginia; Jermaine Polk (defensive lineman) from St. Francis de Sales in Ohio; Tanner Raymond (linebacker) from Choate Rosemary Hall in Connecticut; Jared Smith (offensive lineman) from Stockbridge High School in Georgia; Xavier Stearn (quarterback) from Germantown Academy in Pennsylvania; and RJ Wortman (athlete) from Colonia High School in New Jersey.

Jared Smith’s uncle is Tyron Smith who played professional football for the Dallas Cowboys and New York Jets between 2011 and 2024.
