Rutgers volleyball team is set to participate in the Big Ten Volleyball Media Day on Monday, July 28, at the Big Ten Network studios in Chicago. Head coach Caitlin Schweihofer, senior Lexi Visintine, and junior Kenzie Dyrstad will represent Rutgers at the event.
The group will appear live with host Rick Pizzo and analysts Holly McPeak and Elena Shklay on BTN at 2:00 p.m. (ET) to discuss the upcoming 2025 season. Topics will include this year’s schedule, growth in women’s athletics, and insights into this year’s program.
In addition to their studio appearance, the Scarlet Knights will hold a press conference at 2:50 p.m. (ET), which can be viewed on BTN+.
The Big Ten Conference was the first collegiate conference to organize an in-person preseason volleyball media event. This move highlights its commitment to promoting women’s sports.
Caitlin Schweihofer is entering her sixth season with Rutgers. Under her leadership, the team has shown significant improvement. Last season saw several record-breaking performances by the Scarlet Knights as they continued to make strides within the Big Ten Conference.
Lexi Visintine, a senior from Houston, Texas, made notable contributions last year with 37 aces — marking it as one of the best seasons for aces since 2013 for Rutgers. She also achieved double-doubles against Little Rock and Iowa during key matches.
Junior Kenzie Dyrstad led Rutgers in digs last season with a total of 309 and achieved numerous personal milestones throughout her sophomore year.
Rutgers will join eight other programs from the Big Ten Conference at this media day event. The remaining nine programs are scheduled for similar sessions on Tuesday, July 29.
