Rutgers women’s soccer falls to Northwestern, Bodmer reaches career milestone

Rutgers women’s soccer was defeated by Northwestern 3-0 on Sunday at Martin Stadium in Evanston, Illinois. The Scarlet Knights, who now hold a record of 3-6-4 overall and 1-6-1 in conference play, allowed two goals in the first half to the Wildcats, who improved to 6-3-6 overall and 2-2-4 in conference.

Northwestern scored its first goal seven minutes into the match and added a second at the 20-minute mark. The Wildcats secured their win with a third goal midway through the second half.

During the match, Rutgers goalkeeper Olivia Bodmer achieved her 200th career save, becoming only the ninth player in program history to reach this milestone. Bodmer made three saves during the game, bringing her career total to 202, which ranks ninth all-time for Rutgers.

The Scarlet Knights will return home next weekend for games against Ohio State and Michigan. The next match is scheduled for Thursday at Yurcak Field against Ohio State at 7 p.m.
