Rutgers University’s women’s soccer team has announced its 2025 schedule. The Scarlet Knights aim to build on their success under head coach Mike O’Neill, following their advancement to the Big Ten Tournament finals last season and securing a 13th consecutive NCAA Tournament berth.

The upcoming season includes matches against nine teams that participated in last year’s NCAA Tournament. This list features nonconference opponents Fairfield, Princeton, and UConn, as well as defending Big Ten champions UCLA.

The Scarlet Knights will start their season with two home games at Yurcak Field. They face NJIT on August 14 at 7 p.m. to kick off the campaign. Other nonconference home matches are scheduled against Air Force on August 24 and UConn on August 31, both starting at 1 p.m. Rutgers will travel to Princeton on August 21 and Providence on September 7 before beginning their Big Ten schedule.

Rutgers opens conference play against Michigan State at Yurcak Field on September 12. The Scarlet Knights have five home matches in the Big Ten and six away matches this season. Their conference schedule includes games against Michigan State (Sept. 12), Minnesota (Sep. 18), Indiana (Sept. 21), UCLA (Sept. 25), USC (Sept. 28), Penn State (Oct. 4 or Oct. 5), Illinois (Oct.9), Northwestern (Oct.12), Ohio State (Oct.16), Michigan (Oct.19) and Maryland (Oct.26).

In the previous year, Rutgers secured an NCAA Tournament spot with an impressive record of eleven wins and participation in the Big Ten Tournament Championship Game, marking their eleventh qualification for the conference tournament since joining the Big Ten.

Key returning players for Rutgers include goalkeeper Olivia Bodmer, who earned Third-Team All-Region honors; leading goal scorer Ashley Baran with six goals; and midfielder Allie Post, who was tied for second in scoring with four goals.
