No. 13 Rutgers wrestling will travel to North Carolina this weekend for two dual meets against No. 10 NC State and Davidson. The matches are scheduled for Sunday at Willow Springs High School in Fuquay-Varina as part of the Journeymen’s ‘Jostle’ event. Rutgers will face Davidson at 1 p.m., followed by a matchup with NC State at 3 p.m. Both events will be streamed on FloWrestling.

In addition to the duals, several Rutgers wrestlers, both attached and unattached, will compete in the Patriot Open on Sunday in Fairfax, Virginia. This tournament will also be available via FloWrestling.

Rutgers is coming off a strong performance at the 2025 Keystone Classic held on November 23 in Philadelphia, where the team secured the overall title with 159 points, finishing ahead of Penn and Lock Haven. Three Scarlet Knights—Lenny Pinto (174), Joseph Olivieri (141), and Ayden Smith (125)—won individual titles at the event. Dylan Shawver (133) and Andrew Clark (149) finished as runners-up, while Shane Cartagena-Walsh (184) and Andrew Barbosa (165) placed third in their respective weight classes.

The Scarlet Knights have moved up to No. 13 in this week’s NWCA Coaches Poll and are ranked within the top 20 by several national outlets, including Intermat, FloWrestling, and The Open Mat. According to The Open Mat, Rutgers is ranked as high as No. 7 nationally. Ten Rutgers wrestlers appear in at least one national poll, with all ten weights recognized by Intermat.

Looking at series history, NC State leads Rutgers 2-1 all-time; last season, NC State defeated Rutgers 24-13 during a similar Journeymen event in New Jersey. Davidson has faced Rutgers twice before, with the Scarlet Knights winning both encounters—the most recent being a 34-6 victory in November 2021.

Following this weekend’s competition, Rutgers is set to host No. 19 Oklahoma on Saturday, December 13 at Jersey Mike’s Arena for a nationally televised meet on Big Ten Network before facing Drexel on Sunday, December 14.
