Last month, Somerville High School senior and #gsgoldaward Girl Scout Bridget Lacerda, was featured in @tapinto for using her sewing skills to take on a great environmental issue, fast fashion. Through her Gold Award project, Sew Sustainability, Bridget hosted and lead sewing workshops for young girls interested in repurposing materials to ultimately improve the environment. The project even reached older members of Bridget's community by way of an organized "Town Wide Swap Weekend", where Bridget also lead free sewing workshops and taught attendees how to repurpose their general household items.
