In addition to being recognized as a day of love, Valentine's Day is also often associated with alcohol. Imagery abounds of sharing a bottle of wine at dinner with your partner or enjoying cocktails at brunch with your friends.

If you are in recovery/sober (or just want to reduce your consumption), you might have to adjust your plans slightly. However, there are plenty of incredible ways to celebrate Valentine's Day alcohol-free:

Go on a road trip with your friends or your partner. You can visit an old favorite spot or a new destination and create valuable memories.
Cook together at home. You can easily avoid the alcohol that's commonly served at restaurants and clubs, and enjoy a romantic experience (and delicious food).
Get into nature. You can watch the sunrise or sunset together, walk along a nature rail, or go stargazing.
Take a class together. Create art, work out, or learn about something new.

How will you be celebrating your Valentine's Day? Let us know in the comments!
